IPS officer Jagmohan Meena has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Bhubaneswar.
The former DCP, Pinaka Mishra, handed over the reins to Meena during a formal ceremony held on Wednesday.
Addressing the media, DCP Meena outlined his strategic priorities for Bhubaneswar, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing public safety. He highlighted the importance of swift investigation and apprehension of criminals, ensuring a safer environment for the city’s residents.
One of the key initiatives announced by DCP Meena includes the installation of additional CCTV cameras across Bhubaneswar to curb crime. Additionally, he underscored the need to bolster cyber security measures and protect elderly citizens from digital threats.
To facilitate better communication with the public, DCP Meena has introduced a dedicated WhatsApp number (87630 04117) for lodging complaints. Citizens are encouraged to use this platform to report any suspicious activities or grievances.
DCP Meena also reaffirmed his focus on tackling crimes against women and children, aiming to create a safer community for all.
The Odisha government’s decision to appoint Jagmohan Meena as the DCP is part of a larger reshuffle within the Indian Police Service (IPS). The former DCP, Pinaka Mishra, has now been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of the Special Task Force (DIG STF).
With these measures in place, DCP Meena is poised to lead Bhubaneswar towards a more secure and vigilant future.
