The upcoming IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, originally scheduled for May 11 in Dharamsala, has been relocated to Ahmedabad.
The change was prompted by Operation Sindoor, which led to the shutdown of several airports in the region, including Dharamsala, Jammu, and Chandigarh, preventing the Mumbai Indians from travelling.
The Gujarat Cricket Association confirmed the venue change following a request from the BCCI. Ahmedabad was chosen over Mumbai to maintain neutrality and prevent either team from gaining a home advantage. Punjab Kings, which had designated Dharamsala as its home base for three matches this season, will now travel to Ahmedabad via New Delhi.
Despite the last-minute shift, the IPL organisers have assured fans that the match will proceed without disruption. The teams are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad ahead of the match to finalise preparations for the crucial encounter.
