Authorities restored internet services in Malkangiri after seven days of restrictions, offering relief to residents and businesses across the district.
The administration suspended services last week after violent clashes erupted between MV-26 and Rakhalguda villages in connection with a murder case. Officials monitored the situation and lifted the ban at noon today, allowing students, traders, and families to reconnect after days of digital isolation.
District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay confirmed that the administration has already lifted BNSS 163 restrictions. He reported damages worth Rs 3.8 crore from the violence.
Police said the number of arrests linked to the clashes and arson in MV-26 village has climbed to 18. Malkangiri Sadar Police detained the individuals for their alleged involvement in house-burning incidents that shook the district earlier this month.
