Odisha SS&EPD Department Principal Secretary, Suresh Kumar Vashishth, IAS, today chaired a state-level review meeting of District Social Security Officers (DSSOs) at Lok Seva Bhawan to assess the implementation of key social security and welfare schemes.
The meeting reviewed progress, field-level challenges, and service delivery mechanisms, with emphasis on accurate identification of beneficiaries, timely benefit disbursement, and robust grievance redressal to ensure transparency and accountability. District officers were instructed to intensify field visits, organise regular awareness and outreach camps, enhance inter-departmental coordination, and ensure quality, time-bound execution of all programmes.
Discussions covered ATRs on previous decisions, vacancies under NSAP and MBPY, pendency of NFBS, Banishree, Marriage Incentive and scholarship applications, UDID and BBSA camp status, Children with Disability survey, RPwD registration, and issues relating to IICs, Old Age Homes, Halfway Homes, RTCs, SAHAYA Gruha, Beggar Rehabilitation Centres, NAPDDR/NMBA, AVAY Scheme and ELDERLINE.
The meeting also addressed audit and budget matters, staff issues including MACP, RACP and pension claims, special schools, DDRC/ARCs, and skill development proposals. The IT Cell demonstrated digital initiatives such as Inventory Management, CCTV cloud solutions, Attendance Management and the ZOHO App. A session on social media use for better public outreach was also held.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the SS&EPD Department and DSSOs from across the state.
