The missile test closely follows the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. With reports linking the attack to Pakistan’s ISI and army, tensions between the neighbouring nations have escalated. Adding to the geopolitical dynamics, Pakistan issued a maritime advisory for a missile test along its Karachi coastline within its Exclusive Economic Zone.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in the aftermath of the attack, condemning terrorism and pledging to bring the perpetrators to justice. The success of INS Surat’s missile test sends a strong message about India’s readiness and resolve in safeguarding its sovereignty.
