The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s prestigious XR Creator Hackathon has unveiled five standout winners who excelled across thematic categories, including healthcare, education, tourism, retail, and entertainment.
These teams captivated the judging panel with innovations like immersive virtual labs, rehabilitation tools, engaging travel guides, interior visualization, and interactive gaming experiences.
The hackathon, part of the upcoming WAVES Global Summit in Mumbai (May 1–4, 2025), drew over 2,200 participants from across India, with an impressive 66% from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and 19% women participants. This diversity of talent highlights India’s growing pool of creative and technological innovators.
All winning projects will receive global exposure at the WAVES Summit, showcasing India as a rising hub in AR, VR, XR, and Media & Entertainment. The event is expected to foster connections between local talents and international stakeholders.
