India’s Graduate Employability Rises by 20% in a Decade: Minister Mandaviya

New Delhi: The employability of India’s graduates has increased by over 20% in the last decade, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated at the BIMSTEC Youth Summit. Highlighting India’s commitment to youth empowerment, he credited the rise to key government initiatives aimed at enhancing skill development and education.

Mandaviya emphasized programs such as the Skill India Mission, National Education Policy 2020, and the PM Internship Scheme, which have collectively trained over 15 million young individuals in advanced fields like artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and digital technologies.

“These initiatives are equipping India’s youth with future-ready skills, ensuring they remain competitive in the global job market,” Mandaviya said. He reiterated the government’s focus on bridging the skills gap and creating new employment opportunities through innovation-driven education.

The BIMSTEC Youth Summit serves as a platform for regional cooperation on education, skills, and economic opportunities, with India taking a leadership role in shaping policies that benefit young professionals across the Bay of Bengal region.
