The Regional Science Centre (RSC) in Bhubaneswar, popularly known as Science Park, is set to make history by launching India’s first ‘Knowledge on Sphere’ (KOS) system.
This innovative scientific visualization tool, featuring a suspended globe measuring 4-6 feet in diameter, delivers 360-degree dynamic projections, bringing complex subjects like astronomy, geography, climate change, and environmental science to life.
The Rs 1-crore project, developed entirely in India, was built over a year by a team of five engineers and scientists. The system is currently undergoing its final testing phase and is expected to be fully operational by the end of the month.
To ensure smooth operation and enhanced visitor experience, RSC has trained four specialized technicians and constructed a dedicated hall equipped with advanced technology. The KOS system is expected to attract students, educators, and science enthusiasts, offering an interactive and immersive learning platform unlike any seen before.
This groundbreaking installation is poised to revolutionize science education in India, providing unprecedented access to dynamic, data-driven visualizations.
