New Delhi: Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Sunday, 8 October began a four-day visit to India with an aim to bolster bilateral relations.
The presidential visit from Tanzania to India is taking place after a span of more than eight years.
Hassan received a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan, earlier today.
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on Monday, October 9. She paid floral tributes and laid wreaths at Mahatma Gandhi Samadhi on the second day of her visit to India. Samia Suluhu Hassan is on a four-day visit to India with an aim to bolster bilateral ties between India and Tanzania. The President is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the day.
Samia Suluhu Hassan on Monday said that she expects her visit to India will open new avenues for political and economic development and cooperation, which will lead to strategic partnership between the two countries.
Addressing the reporters at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, Hassan said, “I would like to express Tanzanian’s appreciation for the excellent existing relationship between our two countries – India and Tanzania – which has been there for decades. My expectations from this visit is that it’s going to open new avenues for political and economic development and economic cooperation, which will lead to strategic partnership of our two countries.”
