India will co-host the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in New Delhi from December 17 to 19, 2025, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

The summit will gather global leaders, policymakers, researchers, and experts to discuss innovation, evidence-based practices, and future strategies in traditional medicine.

Today, the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM) in Bhadrak, under the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) and the Ministry of AYUSH, hosted a press conference to announce this prestigious global summit.

The event highlighted India’s commitment to advancing evidence-based traditional medicine. Dr. Akhter Hussain Jamali, Research Officer and Scientist III, delivered the welcome address, followed by an official announcement by Dr. Kishore Kumar, Research Officer in Charge. A brief media interaction was also held with the panel members.

Shri Mahendra Prasad Jena, Assistant Director of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in Bhubaneswar, addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of media support in promoting traditional medicine globally. The session concluded with a vote of thanks.

RRIUM reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening Unani research and contributing to global initiatives in traditional medicine.
