Hockey India has unveiled its 20-member squad for the upcoming Women’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025, set to take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 5 to 14.
The tournament holds high stakes, with the winner earning a direct berth to the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup 2026 in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Salima Tete, known for her agility and leadership, will captain the Indian side, which features a balanced mix of seasoned players and emerging talent. India has been placed in Pool B alongside Japan, Thailand, and Singapore. The team will kick off its campaign against Thailand on September 5, followed by matches against Japan and Singapore.
