India made history on October 9, 2025, by winning its first-ever medal at the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships.
The team defeated Korea in a thrilling quarterfinal match held in Guwahati.
The match began with a setback. Korea took the first game 45-44. However, India bounced back. They won the next two games 45-30 and 45-33. This comeback secured India a place in the semifinals and guaranteed at least a bronze medal.
Vennala Kalagotla and Reshika Uthayasooriyan led the women’s doubles. They overcame Korea’s Cheon Hye In and Moon In Seo with sharp tactics and strong teamwork.
