India Extends Invitation to Chile for WAVES 2025

India’s Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. L. Murugan, met with Chile’s Minister of Culture, Arts & Heritage, H.E. Mrs. Carolina Arredondo, during Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font’s state visit to India.

The meeting emphasized enhancing cultural exchanges and collaborations in arts, heritage, and education. Dr. Murugan invited Chile to participate in the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in May 2025, presenting Mrs. Arredondo with a painting symbolizing Indian heritage.

President Boric’s visit commemorates 76 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations and paves the way for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Discussions covered cooperation in key sectors like minerals, defense, agriculture, and healthcare, showcasing the growing cultural connection, particularly through Yoga and Ayurveda’s popularity in Chile.
