The Indian men’s regu team claimed their first-ever gold medal at the 2025 Sepak Takraw World Cup, held in front of a raucous home crowd.
They emerged victorious in a nail-biting final against Japan, winning 2-1. Despite losing the first set 11-15, the hosts rebounded with a 15-11 win in the second and sealed their triumph with a closely fought 17-14 third set.

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s regu team also delivered a commendable performance, securing a bronze medal after their semi-final loss to Vietnam.
