Active Monsoon Driving Rainfall Across Odisha
Weather experts said the ongoing southwest monsoon remains active over Odisha, leading to widespread rainfall activity across multiple districts.
Several parts of the state have already witnessed intermittent rain over the past few days, and favourable atmospheric conditions are expected to sustain rainfall activity in the coming days.
The IMD has indicated that monsoon-related weather systems will continue to influence Odisha’s weather pattern, resulting in periodic showers and thunderstorms.
IMD Advises People to Take Precautions
In view of the forecast, the weather department has urged residents to take necessary safety measures during thunderstorms and lightning events.
People have been advised to:
- Stay indoors during lightning activity.
- Avoid open fields and exposed locations.
- Refrain from taking shelter under trees.
- Follow official weather updates regularly.
- Exercise caution while travelling during heavy rain and strong winds.
Farmers, fishermen, construction workers, and others engaged in outdoor activities have been specifically advised to remain alert and plan their work according to weather advisories.
Weather Conditions to Remain Unsettled
The IMD said weather conditions are likely to remain favourable for rainfall across many parts of Odisha over the next few days. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have urged citizens to stay informed through official weather bulletins.
With monsoon activity intensifying, residents are encouraged to remain prepared for sudden weather changes and follow safety guidelines to avoid lightning-related incidents.
