The 4th National Workshop on Recent Developments in Smart Grid Technologies (NWSGT-2025) was held on March 7th and 8th, 2025, at the School of Electrical and Computer Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar.
The workshop focused on the major theme of “Electric Mobility and Smart Grids.”
The event began with an inaugural function addressed by Shri Trilochana Panda, Managing Director of GRIDCO, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, as the Guest of Honour. Both emphasized various aspects of emerging Smart Grid and Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies. Prof. S.R. Samantaray, the Coordinator of the program, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the workshop’s 11-year history at IIT Bhubaneswar. Prof. V. Pandu Ranga, Dean (CE), presided over the meeting, and Prof. C. Perumalla, Co-coordinator, proposed a vote of thanks.
The valedictory function was graced by Shri B.B. Mehta, Director of SLDC, OPTCL, as the Chief Guest. The workshop featured keynote addresses and demonstrations on emerging trends in EV charging systems, Vehicle-to-Grid and Grid-to-Vehicle interactions, Protection and Control Systems for smart grids, including renewables, EV and storage, and Energy management systems for evolving microgrids and smart grids.
The workshop attracted significant participation from both industry and academia, focusing on the latest trends and technologies in the smart grid and electric mobility sectors.
