The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), India’s largest fertiliser cooperative, on Friday officially launched a comprehensive Nano Fertiliser Awareness Mega Campaign to promote the adoption of advanced nano fertilisers among farmers across the country.

IFFCO Chairman Mr Dileep Sanghani formally flagged off five nano promotion vans from Delhi, marking the beginning of an extensive outreach program that will cover 560 districts and 3,477 tehsils in 19 states and union territories.

Addressing a press conference at IFFCO Sadan, Mr Sanghani said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inspired the campaign. It aligns with the national visions of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation).

“The inclusion of Nano NPK Liquid (8-8-10) and Nano NPK Granular (20-10-10) in India’s Fertiliser Control Order (FCO) is a significant milestone,” Mr Sanghani noted. “India stands at a historic point where tradition and technology are converging to reshape agriculture.”

The campaign will employ a multi-media strategy encompassing print, television, radio, outdoor, and digital platforms. It will focus on four key objectives:

  • Promoting IFFCO’s range of nano products, including Nano Urea Plus, Nano DAP, Nano NPK, Nano Zinc, and Nano Copper.
  • Training farmers on proper foliar spray application methods.
  • Reducing dependence on conventional fertilisers.
  • Ensuring last-mile delivery through the vast cooperative network, particularly Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and field demonstrations.

Mr Sanghani emphasised that awareness must reach the grassroots level so farmers can witness tangible results, build trust, and adopt nano fertilisers as a mass movement. “Nano fertilisers are not just products — they are tools to protect soil health, safeguard the environment, and increase farmers’ income,” he said.

He highlighted IFFCO’s innovation efforts, including its hub at IFFCO-Nanoventions in Coimbatore and the upcoming nano fertiliser plant in Brazil, set to become operational by June 2026. These initiatives underscore India’s growing global leadership in nanotechnology for agriculture.

Strong Market Response So Far

IFFCO has already achieved impressive sales: over 21.8 million bottles of Nano Urea Plus Liquid and 6.426 million bottles of Nano DAP Liquid. Nano Zinc and Nano Copper recorded first-year sales of 5.7 million and 0.2 million bottles, respectively.

Notably, 20.826 million bottles of Nano Urea Plus are equivalent to 0.937 million metric tonnes of conventional urea, while 5.789 million bottles of Nano DAP equate to 0.289 million metric tonnes of DAP. These substitutions are delivering substantial savings in logistics, energy, and import costs.

The product portfolio also includes the bio-stimulant “DharaAmrut”, enriched with amino acids, alginic acid, humic acid, essential minerals, and banana extract, which is gaining rapid popularity.

Looking ahead, IFFCO expects its profit before tax for FY 2025–26 to exceed ₹4,200 crore, driven by continued innovation in nano technology, drone applications, AI, and data analytics.

In his concluding remarks, Mr Sanghani called upon all stakeholders to join the movement: “Lower cost, higher productivity, and a healthier environment — this is the future of a self-reliant India, with nano fertilisers in every field.”

The launch event was attended by IFFCO Managing Director Mr K. J. Patel, board members, officials, and employees.
