Jaleswar: Remains of a human being was recovered from a pond at Banisulia village under Singla police station here on Saturday morning.
According to reports, the matter came to light today during cleaning of the pond.
On being informed, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.
Though the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that the person was killed and later the body was dumped into the waterbody, said sources.
