A high-level security review meeting is set to take place today at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha, amid rising security concerns related to ongoing geopolitical tensions.
The meeting, convened by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Eastern Range, will involve senior officials from Balasore police, intelligence agencies, and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The key agenda includes evaluating security protocols, strengthening surveillance measures, and addressing cyber threats. Authorities are expected to discuss ways to protect classified defence data and missile testing operations, which play a pivotal role in India’s missile development initiatives. The Chandipur facility has been the testing ground for Agni, Prithvi, Akash, and BrahMos missile systems.
With tensions escalating in the region, ensuring the safety and integrity of critical defence infrastructure has become a national priority. Locals have noticed heightened security arrangements around the test range, although officials assure that daily civilian activities will remain unaffected.
Experts believe that enhanced security measures will reinforce India’s defence readiness while safeguarding sensitive military operations from espionage and cyber threats.
