Mr. Roopwant Singh, Managing Director of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (GMDC), met with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan to discuss ongoing coal block operations and propose new development initiatives in the state.


During the meeting, Mr Singh highlighted GMDC’s commitment to Odisha’s progress by proposing the construction of a state-of-the-art hospital, two modern schools, and an IT park.

The Chief Minister appreciated the proposals, expressing optimism about their potential impact on Odisha’s socio-economic growth. Further discussions regarding these projects are set to take place in the coming days.

Notably, GMDC oversees the operations of the Baitarani West and Burapahar coal blocks in Odisha. The meeting also reviewed the current status and future plans for these significant projects.
