Australia’s young cricket sensation Georgia Voll has been crowned the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for March 2025, solidifying her rising status in international cricket.
Voll, who made her debut in December 2024, delivered standout performances during Australia’s 3-0 sweep against New Zealand in March, finishing second in the run-scoring charts with an impressive 161 runs.
The 21-year-old batter edged out competition from senior Australian teammate Annabel Sutherland and USA’s Chetnaa Prasad to win the award, marking a fourth consecutive month of an Australian claiming the honor. The sequence began with Annabel Sutherland (December 2024), followed by Beth Mooney (January), and Alan King (February).
A Stellar Series Performance
Voll showcased her batting prowess throughout the series, beginning with a 50 off 31 balls in the first T20I, followed by a rapid 36 off 20 deliveries in the second match. She capped off her dominant run with a career-best 75 off 57 balls in the final T20I, playing a crucial role in securing Australia’s clean sweep over the White Ferns.
Expressing her delight at receiving the award, Voll said: > “Winning this award is certainly a nice way to cap off what’s been an incredible summer for myself and the team. To go to New Zealand and claim that T20 series against the World Champions was the perfect way to end the season. It’s been a whirlwind first summer in the Australian side, and I’m excited for what next season holds.”
With her talent and confidence growing, cricket fans and analysts eagerly anticipate Voll’s future contributions to the Australian team.
