The Government e Marketplace (GeM) has reached an impressive milestone—insuring over 1.3 crore individuals under various insurance schemes in FY 2024-25.
This achievement underscores GeM’s growing impact on delivering transparent, cost-effective services to government organizations and beneficiaries.
Beyond insurance, GeM has also facilitated the hiring of 1 million manpower resources, further strengthening its role in enabling efficient procurement processes. By ensuring direct transactions between buyers and IRDAI-approved insurance providers, GeM eliminates intermediaries, reducing costs while streamlining service delivery.
Additionally, GeM has expanded its insurance offerings to include asset insurance, transit and marine insurance, liability insurance, livestock insurance, motor insurance, crop insurance, and cyber insurance—broadening coverage for diverse needs across sectors.
CEO-GeM Shri Ajay Bhadoo, commenting on this success, stated, “GeM remains committed to continuously enhancing its platform to provide seamless, secure, and cost-effective procurement solutions. This milestone reflects the growing confidence of government organizations in leveraging GeM for their insurance needs.”
GeM’s continued expansion solidifies its position as India’s largest e-marketplace for public procurement, creating efficiency, reliability, and accessibility in insurance and manpower hiring services.
