Garuda Aerospace, India’s leading drone startup backed by cricket legend MS Dhoni, welcomed senior officers from the College of Defence Management to its newly inaugurated facility in Chennai.
The event was graced by Shri Sanjay Seth, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Defence, who officially opened the state-of-the-art center designed to advance drone technology for strategic and civilian applications.
The visit highlighted Garuda’s commitment to innovation in unmanned aerial systems, with demonstrations showcasing surveillance, disaster response, and agricultural capabilities. Defence officials engaged in discussions around integrating drone tech into national security frameworks and training modules.
MS Dhoni, who has been a vocal supporter of indigenous tech startups, expressed pride in Garuda’s progress, emphasizing the importance of self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The facility is expected to serve as a hub for R&D, training, and deployment of drones across sectors.
