Gambling Den Busted in Chhatrapur, 10 Held with Rs 1.65 Lakh Haul

Chhatrapur police in Ganjam conducted a raid on a gambling den operating behind the residence of Damodar Jena in Pattnayak Colony.


Acting on a reliable tip-off, a team led by IIC Debashish Mohanty, with Assistant Sub-Inspector Sabita Khuntia and other staff, swooped in on the location during a patrol. The operation resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals engaged in illegal gambling activities.

The police seized ₹1,65,150 in cash, 10 mobile phones, two motorcycles, one scooter, and two decks of playing cards from the site. The arrested individuals have been identified as K. Bala Raju (53), S. Dharma Reddy (44), Bishnu Maharana (43), Prafulla Behera (50), Krishna Tripathi (47), Sudam Chandra Jena (55), Purna Chandra Gouda (43), Damodar Jena (57), Maheswar Maharana (47), and Pramod Kumar Nayak (27).

A case has been registered under Case No. 499/25, and further investigations are underway.
