Four missing children from Tinkabir village in Deogarh district were rescued safely on Thursday morning after an intensive search operation by police, villagers, and family members.
The incident began on Wednesday when four Class V students from Tinkabir village under Riamal police station went missing after returning from school. They had gone out to play but did not return home, prompting their families to search the area. When the children could not be found, the families informed the police.
Responding quickly, Riamal police formed two separate search teams and launched an overnight operation with the help of villagers. CCTV footage later showed the children roaming with two bicycles, which helped narrow down the search.
On Thursday morning, the children were found near a hill and forest close to the village. Officials confirmed that the children had spent the entire night inside the forest. However, it remains unclear why they went there or whether someone had taken them. Police have started an investigation to determine the circumstances.
After the rescue, all four children were taken to the nearby community health centre for medical examination. Doctors confirmed that the children were safe and in stable condition.
The successful rescue brought relief to the families and villagers, who had spent the entire night searching. Authorities praised the coordinated efforts of police teams and local residents in ensuring the safe recovery of the children.
