Rajgangpur police have arrested five individuals for operating an interstate online gambling racket from a rented house in Station Pada.
The raid followed intelligence reports about illegal betting activities being conducted through digital platforms.
The accused hail from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, and were found using apps like Ready Anna, Foyer Play, Gold 365, and Leisure 247 to facilitate online gambling via the Mahadev Book App.
Police seized two HP laptops, 19 iPhones of various brands, and multiple multi-SIM cards used for the operation. The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Jagadish Rao (24), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
- Maddu Kartik (20), Khurshipur, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh
- Ayush Bambekar (19), Gudiyari, Raipur, Chhattisgarh
- Mahendra Gedam (20), Sugela village, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh
- Sandeep Yadav (20), Gangajal village, Sundargarh, Odisha
A case has been registered under IPC sections 318(2), 336(3), 340(2), and 365, along with Section 3 of the Odisha Gambling Control Act. All five have been forwarded to court.
