Vedanta Aluminium has developed a dedicated fitness-cum-amusement park for 700 students of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama School in Hatamuniguda, Rayagada. The park, equipped with a variety of play and fitness facilities, is designed to promote physical activity, recreation and holistic growth of students.
The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Prateek Kumar, Vice President & Head, Vedanta Sijimali Bauxite Mines, in the presence of school authorities. The inauguration was followed by a heartwarming sight of students exploring the new space with enthusiasm. In rural areas like these, limited school infrastructure hinders student’s learning and growth. By equipping schools with vital infrastructure, Vedanta Aluminium aims to create a more conducive learning environment that supports the students’ academic success and overall development.
Established in 2008 on 100 acres of land provided by the Government of Odisha, the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama School imparts education up to the 12th standard under the CBSE curriculum. All its students hail from tribal communities across the Koraput region, including Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur districts.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, said, “At Vedanta Aluminium, we believe that true community development goes beyond infrastructure – it’s about creating opportunities for holistic growth. This fitness-cum-amusement park will offer children opportunities for play and physical activity, along with a joyful environment that fosters confidence and supports overall development. We are committed to partnering with communities to create such impactful interventions that nurture the future of our nation.”
Through such initiatives, Vedanta Aluminium continues to demonstrate its commitment to transformative community development by building wider access to holistic development of young minds. By investing in the future of Odisha’s youth, Vedanta continues to pave the way for more opportunities, growth, and development.
