A major milestone in Ganjam’s power infrastructure was achieved with the commissioning of a new 33KV line from the Hinjili Grid Sub-Station to the Sheragada Primary Sub-Station. The project was carried out by TPSODL, under the ODSSP V scheme ( Mukhya Mantri Shakti Bikas Jojana) at a cost of about ₹6 crore. It is set to benefit more than 40,000 consumers across 22 Gram Panchayats in Sheragada block.
The new line, 18 km in length and built with 148 sq. mm conductor, will strengthen supply to four Primary Sub-Stations, Adapada, Sheragada, Karadakana, and Palashpur, in the area. This will ensure stable and quality electricity for households, farmers, and small businesses.
Until now, Sheragada depended on a single feeder. Any technical fault or maintenance shutdown on that line led to difficulties for thousands of people. With this second source from Hinjili, consumers now have an alternate supply route, reducing interruptions and improving reliability.
Consumers will now enjoy steady voltage at home. Farmers will receive dependable power for irrigation pumps. Shops and small businesses will be able to run their operations without frequent disruptions. This project marks a landmark step in creating a stronger and more reliable electricity network for the people of Sheragada.
