The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports recently organized the ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ initiative across the nation.
In Lucknow, Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya led over 500 cycling enthusiasts, spreading the message of fighting obesity and adopting an active lifestyle.
Cycling from Marine Drive to Samta Mulak Chauraha, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the transformative power of cycling, stating, “Cycling not only enhances one’s health but also builds character, boosts confidence, and shapes the future of our nation. It is not just a mode of transport but a step towards a healthier, more sustainable future.”
The event, organized by the Sports Authority of India’s Netaji Subhas Regional Centre, saw enthusiastic participation from young boys and girls, local athletes, and fitness lovers. Zumba performances and an engaging atmosphere made the initiative vibrant and inclusive.
This nationwide cycling drive has so far been conducted at over 5,000 locations, with participation exceeding 2 lakh individuals. From Paralympians to celebrated athletes and fitness enthusiasts, the movement has garnered immense support, fostering a culture of fitness while advocating for environment-friendly practices to combat air pollution.
The initiative exemplifies Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a fitter and healthier India, inspiring people to make fitness a priority while contributing to a greener planet.
