A fire broke out in the steno room of the District Collectorate Office in Nuapada on Sunday morning at around 10 AM, causing extensive damage to materials.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
The Fire Department promptly arrived at the scene and managed to bring the fire under control. Electricity supply was cut off to prevent further damage, and an assessment of the losses is underway.
District Collector Madhusudan Das visited the site to review the situation and instructed officials to take immediate measures to restore normalcy.
