A minor fire erupted inside Ashok Talkies in Rayagada, Odisha, during fans’ celebrations for Prabhas’ latest film, The RajaSaab. The incident created panic but caused no casualties.

Fans gathered in large numbers to mark the release of the horror-comedy film. They performed ‘Aarti’ in front of the cinema screen, holding plates with fire and offerings. During the ritual, one plate slipped and fell, igniting scattered papers on the floor. Flames spread quickly, alarming moviegoers inside the hall.

Spectators acted immediately and controlled the fire before it could spread further. Their quick response prevented damage to property and ensured safety for everyone present. Officials confirmed that fire services did not need to intervene.

The cinema hall resumed screenings soon after the situation settled. No injuries or loss of life occurred, and the incident ended without major disruption.

Prabhas’ fans expressed relief that the mishap did not escalate. The incident highlighted the risks of performing rituals inside enclosed spaces.

The RajaSaab, directed by Maruthi Dasari, tells the story of a young heir who struggles between tradition and rebellion while shaping his royal legacy. The film features Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab. Released worldwide on January 9, 2026, the movie drew massive crowds across India, including Odisha.

The Rayagada fire incident during Prabhas’ Aarti became a talking point among fans and locals. Despite the scare, enthusiasm for The RajaSaab remained strong, and the cinema hall continued to welcome audiences.
