A fire broke out at Shreevihar Badshah Apartment in Bhubaneswar this morning, trapping two people inside a lift filled with smoke.
The blaze started due to a suspected short circuit, according to preliminary reports. Thick smoke quickly spread inside the lift, leaving two residents trapped. Firefighters rushed to the scene and carried out a swift rescue operation. They opened the lift gate and safely evacuated both individuals. No casualties or serious injuries were reported.
Fire service personnel controlled the smoke in the parking area and lift zone. Police officers assisted in managing the situation and crowd control as local residents gathered outside the apartment. The rescued individuals are safe and in good health.
Authorities confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to determine whether the short circuit or another cause triggered the fire.
