The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on Wednesday unveiled a game-changing initiative for highway commuters: a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at ₹3,000, aimed at easing travel and reducing toll-related hassles.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the move via X (formerly Twitter), stating the pass will be available from August 15, 2025, and is designed for non-commercial private vehicles including cars, jeeps, and vans.

Key Features of the FASTag Annual Pass:

  • Price: ₹3,000

  • Validity: 1 year or 200 trips (whichever comes first)

  • Eligible Vehicles: Only non-commercial private vehicles

  • Coverage Area: Toll plazas within a 60-km radius of the commuter’s home

  • Availability: Through the Rajmarg Yatra app, NHAI, and MoRTH official websites

Benefits of the FASTag Yearly Pass:

  • Single payment for an entire year eliminates repeated toll deductions

  • Speeds up movement at toll plazas, especially for daily commuters

  • Reduces disputes and toll congestion

  • Designed to resolve frequent grievances by those living near toll booths

  • Supports digitisation of road services and modernisation of toll infrastructure

How to Activate:

A dedicated link for registration, activation, and renewal of the FASTag Annual Pass will be launched ahead of Independence Day.

The move follows similar relief measures like the relocation of the Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurgaon, which has eased traffic for thousands of Delhi-NCR office-goers.
