A man reportedly killed his uncle, severing his head over a longstanding familial dispute in Keonjhar and surrendered himself at the police station.
The deceased has been identified as Hari Dehuri, and the accused is Kabi Dehuri.
The incident took place at Tala Kainsari village in Keonjhar district.
Following the crime, Kabi carried the severed head to the Suakati police outpost, under the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station, and surrendered himself.
The horrifying incident took place on Friday night during the village’s traditional “Danda Nacha” celebrations. Kabi allegedly planned the murder, fueled by anger over domestic disputes. At approximately 10 PM, he attacked his uncle with an axe near the Bilmali area on the outskirts of the village.
The local police have initiated an investigation, questioning both villagers and the accused to uncover further details. The shocking nature of the crime has left the community reeling in grief and fear, as law enforcement officers work to piece together the motive behind this brutal act.
