Kendrapara: A retired VLW-cum-PEO in Kendrapara district has been sentenced to undergo four years of rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.
The convict has been identified as Sudhakar Pradhan, Ex-VLW-cum-PEO (Retired), Rajkanika Block, Dist-Kendrapara.
Pradhan was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant to process the file for the release of a security deposit relating to the construction of step of the temple and changing room.
Pradhan was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 4 years and a fine. Further, the convict Sudhakar Pradhan was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of the pension of Pradhan following his conviction.
