Southampton: Rohit Sharma will be back at the forefront of things as India and England go head to head in the first of three T20Is, set to begin on Thursday, July 7 at Southampton.
Team India will field slightly different teams in the first and the remaining two T20Is as Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are set to be rested after taking part in the fifth Test against England. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi and Arshdeep Singh will make headway for the returning stars.
The two teams have faced off 19 times in the shortest format of the game with India taking 10 wins while the home team have been victorious on nine occasions.
India come into the game following a 2-0 victory in a two-match T20I series against Ireland. India then played warm-up matches against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire, winning both the games.
