Bhubaneswar: An Electronics Manufacturing cluster will soon come up in Odisha, said Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday.
Addressing a function organised at Exhibition Ground to felicitate the newly-elected MLAs, MPs, and Union Ministers, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that an Electronics manufacturing cluster will be built in Odisha and a training program will also be introduced in the semiconductor industry.
He also added that a discussion in this regard has been held with Chief Minister Majhi.
He further added that this time, 315 special trains will run in Odisha for Rath Yatra. Special trains will come to 25 districts.
Comparing work under other governments the Railway Minister mentioned that a decade ago, Odisha was receiving only Rs 800 crores of railway grants crushing the railway dream of the state. However, in just 10 years, under PM Modi, Odisha has been the recipient of 10,000 crore rupees every year for 3 years and in the next 5 years, Rs 1 lakh crore will come up to Odisha for new projects.
Minister Vaishnaw stated, that in the 2024-25 financial year, Odisha received Rs. 10,536 crore and within 10 years a record 1,846 km of new railway line has been built in the state, higher than the entire railway network of Sri Lanka, which is 1,700 km.
Vaishnaw complained to the previous government, for acting like a barrier before the development and assured under the BJP government record number of work would be done.
