Bhadrak: An elderly woman patient of Charampa locality in Bhadrak district had to be carried on a cot to the hospital due to the absence of a motorable road.
As per reports, the patient, identified as Godavari Sethi, suddenly fell ill. Following this, her family member contacted the 108 ambulance immediately. However, the ambulance could not reach the village due to the non-motorable road to the hamlet.
With no options left, the family member, with the help of some villagers, placed the elderly woman on the cot and walked for nearly one kilometer to reach the ambulance.
Poor connectivity of roads and lack of development in the remote areas of Odisha continues to put the life of people at risk depriving them of health care facilities during emergencies.
