Nuapada District’s Jonk Police conducted a major raid in the Khariar Road area, recovering 30 kilograms of ganja, 103 bottles of cough syrup, and other illegal substances.

This raid led to the arrest of three individuals, including two women, suspected of running an illegal drug trade from Dhobipada.

Acting on intelligence reports, the police team, led by Jonk IIC Pradeep Dharua, seized various items, including narcotic tablets, injections, cash amounting to Rs 85,000, two cars, and mobile phones. Superintendent of Police (SP) G.R. Raghvendra confirmed the arrests at a press conference, stating that the suspects had been remanded to judicial custody after their bail applications were denied.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Odisha Police to tackle drug-related crimes and protect vulnerable communities from the adverse effects of narcotics.
