Bhubaneswar: Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena has urged people not to go in for panic buying create a rush in front of the shops.
The Odisha SRC said all essential services including grocery, fish, poultry shops will remain open every day except during weekend shutdowns on Saturday and Sundays. He said all the shops will remain open from 6 am to 12 pm every day.
“There is sufficient stock of essential commodities. Transportation of food items and goods are also continuing. There is no need for buying more. Going to ross will infect you and ultimately your family,” SRC Jena said.
He urged the people not to invite corona home by creating crowd and entering the crowd. Creating crowd would defeat the real purpose of the lockdown.
All Aahaar centers across Odisha will also remain open for takeaways during the lockdown. Dine-in is strictly prohibited, Jena further informed.
Amidst growing concerns over the steep rise in COVID-19 cases, the Odisha government on Sunday announced a two-week lockdown in the State from May 5 to 19. Apart from the lockdown, there will be a complete shutdown on weekends from 6 p.m. on Fridays to 5 a.m. on Mondays.
