Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh on Friday said that 31 places have been selected for the sale of crackers. Traders have been asked to sale the fireworks from authorized suppliers.

Police had earlier announced the timing of bursting of crackers. Revelers are allowed to fire crackers for two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali night. Crackers having sound limits of 125 decibel are allowed to be burst.

Bursting of crackers is strictly prohibited at sensitive places like hospitals.

Action will be taken against anyone found violating norms like selling crackers at sensitive places and bursting beyond permitted time limit, said Singh.

Police also issued a list of Do's and Don'ts for the festival of lights.

DCP also urged people to inform the police on WhatsApp number 7077798111 regarding illegal manufacturing of fire crackers.
