Malkangiri: Vigilance sleuths today caught the District Programme Manager (DPM) of office of the Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer while taking Rs 20,000 bribe to pass a bill.
The accused has been identified as Sudeep Kesh, District Programme Manager, Office of the Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer, Malkangiri. He had demanded Rs 20,000 from one, Nabaghana Khillo of J.E office, for passing of bills in connection with the execution of some Construction works, said the Vigilance.
Following a complaint, a trap was laid today and the DPM was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount from the complainant.
In this connection Koraput Vigilance P.S case No. 02/2021 under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation. The entire bribe money has been seized, the Vigilance added.
