A diarrhoea outbreak in Ward No. 13 of Niladri Vihar, Bhubaneswar, has affected more than 150 people, with several patients receiving treatment at health centers and Capital Hospital.
Authorities suspect contaminated water in a sump tank to be the source of the outbreak. Residents report finding impurities such as mud, cement, and wood in the tank, raising concerns over water safety.
The outbreak has reportedly been ongoing for about 20 days, with patients experiencing symptoms like vomiting, abdominal pain, and loose motion.
A health team has been deployed over the last three days, and investigations are underway to confirm the cause and implement corrective measures. Officials are urging residents to avoid drinking unfiltered water and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms arise.
