Aditya Dhar’s much-awaited spy thriller sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, has set the box office buzzing ahead of its worldwide release on March 19.
Advance booking for Dhurandhar 2 opened on Saturday morning and witnessed a massive surge within 24 hours, selling over 1.5 lakh tickets and earning Rs 15.74 crore.
Excluding block bookings worth Rs 8 crore, the advance gross stood at Rs 7.80 crore, with the Hindi version contributing Rs 7.61 crore from 1.41 lakh tickets. Special formats added to the tally, with IMAX earning Rs 6.26 lakh from 581 tickets and Dolby Cine contributing Rs 77,750. The Telugu dubbed version earned Rs 6.38 lakh from 5,250 tickets despite competition from Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan.
The Tamil dubbed version followed with Rs 4.56 crore from 3,967 tickets, while Malayalam and Kannada versions recorded smaller numbers. Overall, Dhurandhar 2 has already crossed Rs 50 crore from paid previews and advance sales, making it one of the biggest pre-release earners in recent times.
The film’s release coincides with festive occasions like Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa, further boosting its prospects. Industry trackers expect Dhurandhar 2 to open with record-breaking numbers, cementing Ranveer Singh’s position as a box office powerhouse.
