Niranjan Panda, former Assistant Engineer of OECF Division-III, Jhiridamali, Kamakhya Nagar in Dhenkanal district, was convicted in a disproportionate assets (DA) case on March 2, 2026.
The Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance Dhenkanal, sentenced Panda to two years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. Odisha Vigilance had charge-sheeted him under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, for possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.
Officials confirmed that Vigilance will now move the competent authority to stop Panda’s pension following his conviction.
