Odisha Vigilance has arrested Asit Kumar Patra, Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) of Dharmasala Block, Jajpur district, for possession of disproportionate assets.
Authorities conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to Patra, uncovering three multi-storey buildings, a flat in Cuttack, a shopping complex, five high-value plots, around 700 grams of gold, bank deposits exceeding ₹65 lakh, and ₹1.85 lakh in cash. The official failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the massive wealth accumulation.
Following the discovery, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.11/2025 was registered against Patra, and he is set to be presented before the court today. Investigation into the case is ongoing, with officials expected to trace further assets linked to the accused.
This arrest marks another major breakthrough in Odisha’s vigilance operations, reinforcing efforts to crack down on corruption and financial irregularities within the administration.
