Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, accompanied by ADGP (Modernisation) Soumendra Priyadarshi, visited the Gundicha Temple today to review security, traffic, and crowd management arrangements ahead of the Rath Yatra 2026 festivities.
The senior officers monitored on‑ground operations, interacted with field personnel, and ensured seamless coordination among all agencies involved in the festival’s management. Remaining stationed at the temple throughout the day, they led from the front, reinforcing Odisha Police’s commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and hassle‑free darshan experience for every devotee.
Officials said the inspection focused on streamlining entry and exit routes, strengthening surveillance systems, and maintaining effective communication between police, temple administration, and civic authorities.
The visit underscores the state’s proactive approach to crowd control and ritual safety during one of Odisha’s largest annual religious events.
