Bolangir: A 14-year-old boy, who reportedly came to know about his elder brother’s untimely demise, attempted suicide by consuming poison at Kumbharkhan village under Belpada police limits in Bolangir district.
The victim has been identified as Biswajit Putel, brother of the deceased Deepak Putel.
According to reports, Deepak, who had gone for fishing at Cheliamal Dam near Jhankripali village on Wednesday evening, died after he drowned following an unfortunate mishap. On hearing about the death, Biswajeet tried to end his life by consuming poison.
He was rescued in critical condition and rushed to Patnagarh sub-divisional hospital.
Reportedly, Biswajit’s health condition is stated to be stable now, said sources.
