In the recently announced Delhi Budget 2025-26, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta revealed plans aimed at transforming the city’s educational landscape.
Central to this is the creation of ‘CM Shri Schools’, with a substantial allocation of Rs 100 crore, aligned with the New Education Policy. These schools will focus on providing advanced educational facilities and fostering inclusivity, particularly for economically disadvantaged students.
Complementing this initiative is the distribution of free laptops to 1,200 Class 10 students, promoting digital literacy. Moreover, 100 new language labs named after Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam will offer courses in French, German, English, and Spanish, nurturing linguistic skills and broadening opportunities for students.
The Delhi government has also earmarked Rs 500 crore for an Education Hub in Narela, bringing various educational resources under one roof. Additionally, startup support centers are set to empower young entrepreneurs, and Rs 230 crore is allocated for the Delhi Skill Entrepreneurship University to further technical education. These initiatives highlight the government’s commitment to providing quality education and skill development opportunities.
