Spring has officially set in across Odisha, bringing a gradual end to winter’s chill and a steady rise in daytime temperatures across the state. While early mornings continue to experience fog in several areas, daytime heat is becoming increasingly noticeable.
According to the Meteorological Centre, no active weather system is currently influencing Odisha. As a result, largely dry weather conditions are expected to prevail throughout the coming week. Weather experts have also indicated that there will be no major fluctuations in temperature during this period.
Although no cold-wave warnings are in place, light to moderate fog may persist in parts of the state until January 26, particularly during early morning hours.
Temperatures Continue to Climb
On Wednesday, daytime temperatures in at least 19 cities across Odisha crossed the 30-degree Celsius mark. Bhubaneswar recorded the highest maximum temperature at 32.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Jharsuguda and Paradip.
Meteorological officials predict that maximum temperatures could rise further by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next few days, clearly signaling the transition into warmer spring conditions.
Advisory for Residents
Residents are advised to take appropriate precautions against daytime heat, especially during peak afternoon hours, while remaining cautious during foggy mornings. The mix of bright sunshine during the day and lingering fog in the early hours is expected to define Odisha’s weather pattern over the next week.
